DMK workers belonging to Anaikattu Union gheraoed party's candidate for Anaikattu Assembly constituency Nandakumar when he arrived at the party office here.
They demanded that he be replaced with another candidate and it led to chaotic scenes with both sides indulging in heated arguments.
Also, wall posters appeared in Tiruchirappalli against the party nominee Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi.
When asked, a party leader said the issues have been sorted out.
A senior party leader told PTI: "These are very routine in nature during elections. In big parties such things happen and we have solved these things by holding consultations with partymen.
