A DNA test on Yasin Bhatkal, one of India's most wanted terrorists who was arrested, is likely to be conducted to conclusively establish his identity.
Immediately after Yasin was arrested by Bihar Police, the security agencies contacted the Karnataka Police and requested it to send a team for his identification.
A team of Karnataka Police has been flown to Bihar and they confirmed that the arrested person is Yasin who hails from Karnataka's coastal village Bhatkal, official sources said.
As Yasin was known as an expert in camouflaging himself, the security agencies are likely to conduct a DNA test on him to match his biological profile with his family members, sources said.
"We want to conclusively establish his identity and for that DNA test is one of the options," sources said.
Yasin, the Indian Mujahideen co-founder, was arrested from the Indo-Nepal border in north Bihar yesterday.
