Doctor held on graft charge by vigilance sleuths

The vigilance sleuths today arrested Medical Officer of Rajnagar Community Health Centre (CHC) in Kendrapara district while he was accepting bribe from an patient.
The vigilance department registered as case under section 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act against Bhakti Dipak Pattanaik, Medical Officer-in-charge, Community Health Centre, Rajnagar, Kendrapara for demand of illegal gratification of 600, an official release said.
In course of investigation, it said a trap was laid. Accused Bhakti Dipak Pattanaik, Medical Officer was caught red handed by the Vigilance Officers in his residential government quarter at Rajnagar, while demanding and accepting bribe amount of Rs 600.
The bribe amount has been recovered from the possession of accused Pattanaik and seized in presence of witnesses, it said adding that his hand wash gave positive chemical reaction confirming acceptance of bribe.
Pattanaik, has been arrested, it said.
