Speaking after inaugurating a 60-bedded Critical Care Institute at Kovai Medical Centre and Hospital (KMCH), here as part of its silver jubilee celebrations, Sathasivam said that the act or law, both in Crpc and IPC, did not prevent the doctors from attending to any accident patients.
Such patients can be attended by the doctors and no no law will be against them, he said.
Similarly, the doctors should come forward to provide the disability certificate to all the disabled, since they required it for education and employment purpose, the former Chief Justice of India, said.
Stating that the majority of the patients, be it poor or affluent, were approaching the doctors in advanced stage of diseases, he urged the fraternity to create awareness and provide necessary health information, so that they can approach at an early stage.

On future projects, he said that a 300-beded facillity is coming up at sholinganallur in Chennai in a three acre land at a cost of rs.300 crore. The facility would become operational by the end of 2016, Palanisamy said.
