'Dolly Ki...' will take Sonam's career to new heights: Arbaaz

Actor-filmmaker Arbaaz Khan, who has again turned producer with the upcoming Sonam Kapoor-starrer 'Dolly Ki Doli', says the film will prove to be a booster for the actress' career.
Sonam, 29, plays the titular character, who runs away with groom's money in the woman-centric romantic-comedy, directed by debutant Abhishek Dogra.
Arbaaz feels Sonam was always on his mind and she fitted the character's requirements perfectly.
"Sonam was always there in our list and she fulfilled all the parameters and she has no reservations on working with new directors.
"She was excited about working with the cast and the story and she was the right person to do Dolly. When success is concern you just need one film to reach new heights and increase your level. It could be 'Dolly Ki Doli' for Sonam," Arbaaz told PTI in an interview.

Arbaaz, who turned producer with blockbuster 'Dabangg' in 2010, said people never expected that he will make a woman-oriented film in his career.

"I always wanted to make a masala entertainer film which is a mainstream film. The film has good characters, dialogues and scenes. Yes it's a women-oriented film and may be people were not expecting from me so soon but a good story is very important as a producer," he said.
Arbaaz said he is excited about the film.
"I was about the film. Post 'Dabangg 2', when I was listening to the scripts and meeting people then I met Abhishek and writer Umashankar. And when they both told me the story of 'Dolly Ki Doli', I felt that I have to produce it," he said.

The 47-year-old filmmaker says he never intended to direct 'Dolly Ki Doli' and had immense trust in Abhishek, even though he is a newcomer.
"Abhishek came with the script and it was always his film yes sometime people are anxious too about the fate of the film when new people are working. I have an ability to take risk and I have been always creatively associated in any of my film," Arbaaz said.
Asked if he consulted writer father Salim Khan for his suggestions on 'Dolly Ki Doli, Arbaaz said, "He gave us the go ahead signal on the script and recently we showed him the rough cut of the film. We thought he would ask us to re-shoot or add something to it. But he liked the film.
