India's Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae today conveyed the concerns in a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Bamdev Gautam.
In a statement, Gautam had earlier mentioned that "he had heard that a large number of intruders from the south" had entered Gaur, Rautahat.
"The Embassy's attention has been drawn to the statement of Deputy Prime Minister Bamdev Gautam in the Parliament on August 24, 2015, regarding the sequence of events leading to violence in several parts of Nepal," the Indian mission said in a statement.
The Indian Embassy also clarified that it has not been contacted by the Nepalese authorities about any unusual movement of people across the border in recent days.
Indian border authorities keep in constant touch with their Nepali counterparts and continue to monitor the situation, the Embassy said.
Nepal has seen several protests in recent weeks against a new draft constitution being discussed by the Constituent Assembly but the unrest took an ugly turn yesterday with seven police officers, 2-year-old son of a police officer, and three protesters killed by agitators.
