Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav today told party workers not to take Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, due next year, lightly and wanted a larger mandate.
"We should not take the 2017 state election lightly. We have to remain alert about anti-development forces," he said while addressing party workers at SP headquarters here.
"Those spreading rumours and misleading the people can become active. Therefore, we have to tell the people the truth and spread information regarding the grand record of development created by SP government to every house," Yadav said.
The SP chief said party workers should take the resolve to form government again with a larger mandate.
Asking the party workers to take the achievements of SP government to every village, Yadav claimed his party has fulfilled most of the promises made in the poll manifesto and the people should be aware of it.
He said treatment of serious ailments which are costly is being provided free of cost, metro rail is about to become operational and there had been heavy increase in transport, tourism and employment due to Agra and Poorvanchal Expressways.
New power and solar plants are being set up and roads and bridges being constructed, the SP chief added.
