Excited over sharing screen space with Madhuri Dixit, the ultimate Bollywood diva, the 'Gangs of Wasseypur' actor Huma Qureshi says hearing the news first she had jumped with excitement.
"I am just happy and excited on hearing the news. My first reaction was to scream in joy. Every girl brought up in the 90s would idolize Madhuri and every girl's ultimate aim would be to have her as co-actor," Huma told a press meet here about her character in Dedh Ishquoe.
Talking about her role in trend setter Gangs of Wasseypur, Huma said "I am bored of that image. Why do you want me to repeat myself!"
Huma, who came to inaugurate Pipal Tree Hotel also talked about her upcoming film X.
"This project remains close to my heart. It is a short film having fun," she said.
"It is an interesting take on relationships where the camera is constantly on way (moving). It is not in exactly masala, commercial genre," she said.
Asked the reason behind Ek Thi Dayaan by Ekta Kapoor not clicking with the audience, Huma said, "As an artiste I am very proud of Ek Tha Dayyan."
"It was a supernatural flick and a huge risk since not many films are like that."
Huma, who gushed about the architecture of typical period look old Kolkata, said she had turned addict to 'alu posto' and 'begun bhaja.'
The interior of the four-star boutique-type hotel featured kantha stitch work adorning the wall.
