According to a Hong Kong tabloid called Apple Daily, Yen will star in the follow-up to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" as Jedi, reported Ace Showbiz.
The role can be more than a small cameo which appears briefly in the movie.
Yen reportedly beat several famous Chinese actors such as Jet Li, Stephen Chow, Tony Leung, Chang Chen, Daniel Wu and Wang Leehom, to bag the role.
Yen is attached to other big projects such as "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend", which will hit theatres on August 28. He will also be seen in next year's "Ip Man 3" alongside boxing legend Mike Tyson.
