The incessant rains which lashed the city in the first half today affected operations at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA), resulting in diversion of a flight and delaying other flights by up to 30 minutes.
There were at least four "go-arounds" due to poor visibility, an airport spokesperson said.
The delays were the longest in the morning, when the city experienced a very heavy rainfall. The delays came down to up to 20 minutes by the end of the day.
Private carrier Jet Airways' Raipur-Mumbai flight had to be diverted to Vadodara because of the downpour and it arrived at CSIA later in the day.
Flights from Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Ahmedabad carried out the "go-arounds" or missed approaches.
A "go-around" is a procedure that is performed if a pilot is not completely satisfied that requirements are in place for a safe landing.
