Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today held a review with ministers and officials concerned here on the issue, a release from his office said.
The proposed unit would be an important wing of DRDO and cater to requirements of the Defence Ministry which hitherto depended on foreign countries for the products to be manufactured there, it said.
The government would allot 100 acres for the unit, about 90km from here, and also provide water and power to it.
The government would also construct an air strip at Nagarjuna Sagar for the convenience of officials and tourists, the release added.
