The Delhi Police today claimed to have arrested a dreaded criminal wanted in several cases.
The Crime Branch, which arrested gangster Sandeep Kana, has recovered an automatic pistol from his possession, police said.
Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch) A K Singla said that the accused was also wanted in the case of killing an elderly man in Delhi's Ranhola area last year.
In a statement, Singla said that a secret information was received that Kana would come near CNG pump in a car to meet his aides on August 11.
"The Crime Branch team laid a trap near the expected place of his arrival and the accused was successfully apprehended in his car," they said.
"On search, one loaded illegal sophisticated pistol was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case under the Arms Act was registered and the accused was arrested in the case," they said.
