"Drishyam", which also stars Tabu and Shriya Saran, is directed by Nishikant Kamat, who helmed the 2011 John Abraham-starrer "Force".
"Terrific word of mouth translates into super growth in biz on Day 2. #Drishyam Thu pre + Fri 8.05 cr, Sat 9.40 cr. Total: 17.45 cr," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Adarsh also wrote that while "Drishyam" is registering growth, Salman Khan-Kareen Kapoor starrer "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" is an all time blockbuster.
"Drishyam", which released this Friday, is a remake of a 2013 Malayalam film of the same name, which starred Mohanlal and Meena.
