But if you are Didier Drogba, then the ovation will certainly be a special one and 6000-odd spectators at the Thyagraj Indoor Stadium reserved the loudest cheer for the Chelsea legend.

The applause Drogba got was simply deafening compared to what Dhoni and his colleagues and also Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor received. Such was his fan following that moment he made an entry, it was Kohli who got up from his seat and just like the thousands of other fans started clicking Drogba's pictures on his cell phone.

As Drogba bowed to acknowledge the applause, the happiness of the fans knew no bounds.

"I can see a lot of Chelsea fans out here. The Champions League was great moment for all of us. I am happy that we have been able to do it for all you fans out here," Drogba, who is now likely to switch over to a new club, said.

After superstars of Bayern Munich played in Bhaichung Bhutia's farewell match here earlier this year, Drogba's visit means that more and more world class players will be coming to India which is now an emerging market for the big corporates who are associated with these clubs and players.

The young boys from Delhi won the All-India Pepsi T20 football tournament beating Punjab in the final.

It was momentous occasion for some of the young Delhi boys like Karan Randhawa, Rahul Bhardwaj, Stanzin Sonam who got a chance to interact with Drogba and then play a football match against Dhoni, Suresh Raina, Kohli, Harbhajan Singh and Murali Vijay. Certainly a 'Red Letter Day' in their lives.
