Drug peddlers arrested with 2.5 kgs of charas in Kashmir

Two alleged drug peddlers were arrested with 2.5 kilos of charas and other contraband in Kupwara district of north Kashmir, police said today.
Faisal Ahmad Dar of Andrhama and Fayaz Ahmad Mir of Fakeerpora were arrested on a specific information from Dragmulla area last night, a police spokesman said.
He said 2.5 kilograms of charas, 57 strips of tablets, 300 grams of poppy straw, seven CSD canteen cards and Rs 7,000 were recovered from them.
A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against the arrested persons, he said.
