The Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) today conducted draw of lots for allotment of low-cost houses in the city for industrial workers under the 2nd Rajiv Gandhi Housing Scheme, 2007.
Two computerised draws were held today with DSIIDC Managing Director Amit Yadav saying that, "The first draw was held for allotment of specific flat numbers to 144 applicants who were found eligible after verification. These flats are of five different types and are available in the Bawana and Narela Industrial Areas.
"In the second draw, 275 applicants were selected from a list of of 394 of them who had applied for Type-1 (ready) flats in Bawana. In this draw, the reservation criteria for applicants as per the allotment policy of the corporation was taken into consideration. These applicants will be given flats after verification."
The flats being allotted by DSIIDC come equipped with essential services like electricity, water and sewage disposal, Yadav said, adding that the houses are also earthquake-resistant and environmentally-compatible.
In 2003 and 2004, DSIIDC had launched two low-cost housing schemes which were later clubbed together as the 1st Rajiv Gandhi Housing Scheme.
Under the scheme, 2,820 low-cost houses under different categories have already been allotted to industrial workers in Bawana and Narela as also to Group C and D employees of Public Sector Undertakings under Delhi government.
