Hansraj, Gargi, Kamala Nehru, Kirori Mal and Sri Venkateswara were among the colleges still offering the course. High cut offs in the first list and marginal dips in subsequent lists might be the reason for this trend.
Even in the fifth list the drop in cut off was not very significant with Hansraj issuing the same cut off of 96.5-98 per cent as last time. The lowest cut off for Commerce in the fifth list is at 83 per cent at Swami Shraddhanand College, much to the disappointment for those with a lesser score.
Ramjas and I P College were among the 12 colleges to still have seats available for English. Admissions to other courses in the general category were largely closed, with seats mostly open for the reserved categories.
Shri Ram College of Commerce closed admission for all categories for the Commerce course, but still has admission open for Economics in the reserved category.
Meanwhile, a section of teachers and critics of the four-year-undergraduate programme under the aegis of 'Save DU Campaign' today issued a press release condemning the alleged denial of admission to eligible candidates.
"Admissions in various courses in colleges were illegally turned into first cum first served basis," she said.
