The warning has come as the teachers' association of the college has planned for tomorrow an agitation outside the college demanding Principal Purbi Saikia's removal over alleged cases of misgovernance.
The college's Governing Body (GB) had last month constituted a Fact-Finding Committee (FFC) to investigate a series of complaints against Saikia.
"The call for a protest is harmful for well-being of the students. College administration requests you to exercise restraint and wisdom to respect the law and call off the agitation. The consequences of proceeding on dharna will subject to directions of UGC pertaining to 'no work no pay'," Saikia said in a letter to the protesting teachers today.
The allegations against the principal include that of violation of rules in appointments, manipulating the minutes of GB meetings, halting the administrative proceedings, not communicating the decisions taken at college to the university and financial irregularities among others.
The Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA) also condemned the principal's letter as an attempt to "threaten" and "intimidate" the teachers protesting against the alleged misgovernance.
