The accused have been identified as Rahul (24), allegedly involved in eight cases of burglary, and Jatin Sachdeva (24), a driving instructor, said DCP (West) Pushpendra Kumar.
According to police, the victim saw one of the killers - who later turned out to be Rahul - and disclosed his identity to his son before he succumbed to the bullet injuries.
The victim, Deepak Patel, was shot near his house at west Delhi's Paschim Puri area on last Friday.
During interrogation, they told the police that the victim had hired Sachdeva for providing driving lessons to his wife. Sachdeva soon developed intimate relations with the woman and soon started taking loans from her.
Later, Rahul joined him and both allegedly stole away jewellery and cash worth several lakhs from Patel's residence. They also convinced Patel's wife that it was Patel himself who had taken away the cash and jewellery for his own purposes.
The duo later also broke inside the house of the woman's sister, who lives at Bahadurgarh in Haryana, and stole jewellery and cash.
On Friday, the duo called the victim at a place near his residence and said that they would return the money which Sachdeva had borrowed from his wife. When Sachdeva arrived there, they shot him and fled in a car.
