"The duo was nabbed after police patrolling was increased in the area following repeated complaints of theft of bulbs and other small things from VIP residences in the area," Additional DCP (New Delhi) Jatin Narwal said.
The first arrest in this connection was made on March 3 when Mohammedd Salim, a resident of Bihar was nabbed with two bulbs that he had stolen from Windsor Place and Janpath, he said.
The second arrest was of Mohammed Shamim alias Dhila who was nabbed by a bike patrolling team yesterday when he was found loitering around suspiciously with a sack, police said.
Shamim is a known criminal of Hazrat Nizamuddin area of South Delhi and has 18 cases pending against him, Narwal said.
Separate cases of burglary have been registered against the duo, he added.
