A duo was arrested from a railway station in the national capital, who allegedly used to dupe railway passengers and steal their personal belongings, police said.
The accused have been identified as Ramanand Mehto and Ranjeet, who were arrested from Anand Vihar Railway station in a joint operation by GRP and Delhi Police.
"The duo was arrested from Anand Vihar Railway station on September 16, acting on a tip-off. Mehto and Ranjeet would strike up a conversation with passenger. They mentioned that they had a relative who was a TTE and could get tickets reserved. While one lured the passenger away on such a pretext, the other would flee with the belongings," said a senior police official.
Official also said that with their arrest, two more cases of theft and cheating have been solved, adding that some valuables and documents were recovered from them.
