Durgapur boy drowns in Ajay

A teenager drowned today when
he went to take holy dip of Makar Sankranti in the Ajay river at Jaydev in Birbhum district.
The police said Rahul Kar (17), a resident of Durgapur, drowned early this morning when he went to take dip along with his friends.
He got trapped in river bed when taking dip, the police said.
Lakhs of devotees took holy dip on the occasion of Makar Sankranti in the river.
The Baul singers and other folk singers gathered at the fair ground at Jaydev like every year.
