The Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB), chaired by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has decided to conduct a survey in all jhuggi-jhopri (JJ) clusters to ascertain the number of occupants and then issue a provisional certificate to them, a board member said today.
DUSIB member Bipin Rai said the purpose behind the survey was to ensure that people living in all the 750 JJ clusters can be shifted to pucca house under the Delhi Slum & Jhuggi Jhopri Rehabilitation & Relocation Policy, 2015.
The decision was taken at a board meeting of the DUSIB chaired by the chief minister.
The board has approved the demand survey of all JJ bastis in the city and issuance of a provisional survey certificate to JJ dwellers having photographs of the occupants of the surveyed units, Rai said.
Besides, the board has also decided to prepare a consolidated estimation for completion of cement concrete (CC) pavement pavements and drains including repair works in all these bastis.
"This work will be completed in one year and the Delhi government will provide funds for these repairs and constructions," the government said in a statement.
It stated that the board also gave nod to the proposal to establish open gyms in all the DUSIB Shishu Vatikas (a designated space for children) wherever feasible.
"The allotment of additional land of 1.18 acre to the Department of Directorate of Health Services at Madipur for a 10-acre hospital was also approved by the board.
It was also decided to allot more spaces for opening of Aam Aadmi Mohalla Clinics on DUSIB lands/properties," the statement said.
