Branding agency DY Works today said it has bagged the branding mandate for Aurangabad Industrial Township, also known as Shendra-Bidkin industrial belt.
The township is being developed as a part of government's Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project.
DY Works bagged the mandate by overcoming stiff competition from five agencies, including JWT.
The awarded mandate for Aurangabad Industrial Township is aimed at development of strategic brand identity, in order to improve awareness and visibility within potential local and global investor community as well as the general public, the company said in a statement.
In Maharashtra, the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC), along with the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), has formed a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) - Aurangabad Industrial Township Limited (AITL) to plan and implement the Shendra-Bidkin Industrial Area (SBIA) near Aurangabad.
SBIA is one of the several nodes planned by DMIDC along the proposed Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC). The DFC between Delhi and Mumbai will pass through six states and will cover an overall length of 1,483 kilometres.
The SBIA has been originally conceived as an industrial city spread over 84 square kilometres.
Phase I of this development is proposed to be about 40.42 square kilometres in two locations - Shendra (8.4 square kilometres adjacent to the existing Shendra Five Star Industrial Area) and Bidkin (32 square kilometres).
"We are thrilled to put our thoughts into action towards designing a unique and culture-based brand identity for the new industrial smart city being built near the City of Gates - Aurangabad," DY Works Managing Director Amrita Chowdhury said.
