Sharing this today, Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal said that crediting payments online was a system which was working well for the state government.
He said that the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS) has been monitoring the online payments programme in Punjab, the first in the country, right from its inception on April 1 of this year.
All government payments in the state since April 1 have been deposited directly into the bank accounts of the departments and authorities concerned, he added.
He added that on July 1, Punjab set a new milestone by putting online the whole work of releasing funds to various departments, which would prove to be a major step forward for paperless administration in the state.
No physical files would be required to be submitted by government departments for seeking grants now under the new system, he said.
