A top electoral official confirmed that the EC has ordered the transfer of the IAS officer Kumaragurubaran.
Earlier, DMK had petitioned the EC, alleging that the state-run multi-system operator (MSO) was being used as a "propaganda machinery" of the ruling AIADMK, with its party chief J Jayalalithaa's pictures being shown all through the day alongwith government programmes.
It had also complained that signals of opposition parties run TV channels like Sun News and Kalaignar News (both DMK) and Captain News (DMDK) became weak during programmes critical of the Chief Minister.
PMK, which owns 'Makkal TV' had also raised similar concerns earlier.
