The Election Commission (EC) today presented to President Pranab Mukherjee the first copy of its prestigious publication, 'India Votes'.
Mukherjee congratulated EC for launching a concise yet comprehensive account of the elections, the poll watchdog said in a statement here.
The President lauded its efforts in bringing out the book that lays special emphasis on the historic general elections of last year, which has gone down in record books as the largest-ever democratic exercise.
The book attempts to encapsulate the most critical and outstanding features of Indian elections for a fact-filled and inside eye view.
It traces the details of the process of elections right from the training of the electoral teams at the EC headquarters here and at the grassroots levels to the planning that goes behind staging the exercise.
