"Yes, we are awaiting a report from the CEO, Maharashtra, and the district electoral officer of Baramati on the reported remarks. Any further action will be taken after examining the CD and going through the report," a senior EC official told PTI here.
He said while the state CEO will forward the CD of the remarks, the district poll authorities will send a detailed report to the EC.
AAP candidate Suresh Khopde had reported the issue to the local police.
BJP condemed Ajit Pawar's statement and asked EC to take note of it.
BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad said here that he had made such "provocative remarks earlier also. Sharad Pawar should reply and let the EC take note of this."
Baramati was among the 19 constituencies which went for poll in the fifth phase of Lok Sabha elections yesterday.
