Edible oils firm up on rising demand

Groundnut oil prices firmed up further at the oils and oilseeds wholesale market here today on rising demand from stockist and retailers amidst ensuing festivities.
Refined palmolein also gained on sustained retail buying on the back of higher Malaysian cues.
In the non-edible section, castorseeds bold and castor oil recovered smartly following renewed demand from shippers and soap manufacturers.
In futures market, castorseeds December contract witnessed no trading today.
In the edible segment, groundnut oil climbed by Rs 10 per 10kg to Rs 900 from Tuesday's closing level of Rs 890 and refined palmolein also moved up by Rs 2 per 10kg to Rs 560 as against Rs 558 previously.
Moving to non-edible section, castorseeds bold shot up by Rs 65 per 100kg to Rs 3,515 from Rs 3,450 and castoroil commercial advanced by Rs 13 per 10kg to Rs 733 as compared to Rs 720 previously. Linseed oil remained unchanged at Rs 745 per 10kg.
