The campaign was launched by East Delhi Mayor Meenakshi at a community centre in Old Seemapuri, EDMC said in a statement.
As part of the campaign, citizens would be sensitised about these diseases and their prevention and cure before the monsoon season sets in, Meenakshi said.
"The aim of EDMC is to prevent citizens from these diseases and their cooperation is solicited. Dispensaries and hospitals of East Delhi are well equipped to deal with the situation," Standing Committee Chairman B B Tyagi said.
Municipal Health Officer of EDMC K K Chaudhary said, "The department has a team of 710 mosquito-breeding checkers who make efforts to create awareness among citizens by visiting door to door.
