The incident occurred last night when the brick-laden truck overturned on children having their meal outside their road side hut, they said.
Kausar (7), Shabana (10), Khushboo (5), Zarina (1), Hazra (6), all real sisters, and Akram (3), Imran (5) and Sohail (5) were critically injured in the accident, police said.
The children were rushed to the Aligarh Medical College where five sisters were declared dead, whereas three boys died during treatment, they said.
Agitated with the incident, local residents blocked the bypass alleging that the rescue crane reached late due to which children could not be taken out early.
