Atleast eight persons were injured when a stray monkey created panic in Hrishitram of West Bengal's Burdwan district today.
The eight persons of the village were attacked by the rogue monkey as panic was created forcing people to stay indoors, police said.
The irate villagers staged a demonstration at the Purbostoli police station demanding capturing of the animal.
The forest department personnel were pressed to track down the monkey while beat officer Paramananda Mahato said efforts are on to trap the animal.
Two injured villagers were admitted to Nadia hospital and two at the Purbostoli hospital for treatment.
