According to the SHO at Wangaon police station, the twin murders came to light this morning and investigations are underway.
The deceased couple was identified as Navshor Irani (82) and Nargis Irani (75), police said.
Although the exact motive behind the killing is not known yet, police suspect that theft might be the reason behind the murder.
The bodies have been sent for postmortem and further details are awaited.
