Elderly man dies after hit by train in J K's Kathua

A 70-year-old man was killed after being hit by a train in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district, police said Friday.

Girdari Lal, a resident of Dilwan village, was crossing the railway line Thursday evening when he was hit by the train, causing his instant death, a police official said.

He said the identity of the deceased was established Friday afternoon and his body was handed over to his family for last rites after completion of legal formalities.
