The recently-concluded 'ELECRAMA 2016' exhibition in Bengaluru saw international buyers placing close to USD 400 million worth of orders for electrical products and equipment from India.
"Reverse Buyer Seller Meet (RBSM), the biggest meeting place of international buyers who plan to source electrical product and equipment from India, concluded with USD 400 million business at ELECRAMA 2016," a statement issued here by the organiser, IEEMA, stated.
RBSM is a platform for Indian industry to showcase its competitive products and services. Some 52 countries from across the globe are part of RBSM where buyers from Africa, ASEAN, CIS, and SAARC, along with Iran, participated.
"We have been quite encouraged by the response during the last edition of RBSM where we did a business of close to USD 200 million. This time, it doubled to nearly USD 400 million," ELECRAMA organising committee Chairman Aaditya Dhoot said.
The Indian electrical products and services are "second to none in the world and we are confident that our competitiveness will give us an edge over other global manufacturers".
"More than 80 per cent of IEEMA members belong to the MSME segment and it is not always possible for these members to travel and promote their products. These meetings aim to bring the buyers and the sellers under one roof," he explained.
