Elephant herd strays into village, 1 injured

Twelve wild elephants strayed into Khandaghosh area of Burdwan district and injured a person.
Police said the herd caused damage to paddy crop and damaged huts.
The injured man, who fell before one of the jumbos, was taken to Burdwan Medical College and Hospital, police said.
Forest department officials went to the spot.
The herd was believed to have come from neighbouring Dalma range in Bankura district.
