The film is a sequel to the 2015 spy movie about a street tough turned secret agent.
The 69-year-old English musician confirmed the news on Instagram.
"It's been a long time since Tommy..... #Kingsman," he captioned the picture that read "Wednesday night's alright for fighting," with title of the film below.
John boards a cast that includes returning stars Taron Egerton and Mark Strong and newcomers Julianne Moore, Channing Tatum, and Halle Berry.
Matthew Vaughn will direct the sequel which will carry forward the adventures of Gary "Eggsy" Unwin (Egerton), a former London delinquent who has been trained to save the day by a secret spy organization.
