Embezzlement of SSA funds: 6 govt officials suspended

Jammu and Kashmir government today ordered suspension of six officials, including two Zonal Education Officers of school education department, for alleged embezzlement of funds under a government-run scheme in Baramulla district.
Taking strong note of the embezzlement of funds in Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scheme, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand directed suspension of those involved, an official spokesman said here.
In preliminary inquiry, misappropriation to the tune of over Rs 70 lakh was established.
