Eminent persons group's report on Nepal-India ties soon

The Eminent Persons Group (EPG) on Nepal-India ties today said it had addressed various bilateral isues and would soon come out with a positive report on relations between the two countries.
Speaking in Kathmandu following the seventh meeting of the EPG, formed to study and report on the overall relations between the two countries, Nepal coordinator Bheikh Bahadur Thapa and India coordinator Bhagat Singh Koshiyari said the report would take forward relations between the two countries.
Stating that the foundation to make bilateral relations more friendly and timely continues to stand, Thapa said topics from the 1950 treaty, trade, environment and hydropower to current border-related issues were addressed and a positive report on would come out shortly.
BJP leader Koshiyari said no side would be disappointed with the report adding that efforts will be made to add more clarity to the existing treaties between the two countries.
The EPG that met for the first time in July, 2016, has four months left before its term expires. It was agreed to convene the next meeting in New Delhi.
