The decision to set up the project was taken at a meeting between Railway Minister Piyush Goyal and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis here today.
"Thank you Hon @PiyushGoyal ji for your commitment for setting up of factory of EMU for Suburban Railways & Metro coaches at Latur. Big boost to economic activities in Marathwada & huge employment opportunities," Fadnavis said in a tweet.
Earlier in the day, Goyal visited suburban Parel and Elphinstone Road railway stations to review the ongoing construction of an ongoing Foot Over Bridge (FOB) by the Army.
