Encounter between militants, security forces in J-K

An encounter broke out between militants and security forces in a forest in frontier Kupwara district of north Kashmir today, police said.
The encounter started when security forces, acting on a specific information, launched a search operation to flush out militants in Mouldari forest area of Handwara, 80 kms from here, this evening, the police said.
They said the exchange of fire between the two sides was going on when last reports were received.
However, there was no immediate report of any causality on either side, the police said.
