The encounter occurred when the security personnel comprised of CRPF and district police force were on long-range patrolling, Superintendent of Police, Anish Gupta told reporters.
Over 200 rounds were fired from either side during the encounter that lasted for around two hours, he said adding no casualty was reported from the security forces camp.
Zonal Commander Jitan Gudia was leader the ultras of People's Liberation Front of India, he said.
Gupta said security forces recovered two 7.62 bore rifles, one 9mm pistol, around 120 live cartridges including 115 nos of 3.15 bore, three motorcycles, three mobile phones, uniforms etc.
