He was addressing officers and elected representatives during a review meeting of the District Coordination Committee held at the local Bachat Bhavan on Monday.
Ahir highlighted various schemes of the Central Government and asked the officials to take them to maximum beneficiaries.
"The government provides subsidy for drip irrigation. It is also providing crop insurance benefits to the farmers. It is therefore the responsibility of officers to bring maximum number of farmers under the scheme and protect their rights," said Ahir.
The meeting also reviewed the works being carried out under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojana, Social Financial Assistance Programme, Pantapradhan Awaas Yojana and Swachh Bharat Mission.
Ahir said the Wardha-Yavatmal-Nanded new railway line and the national highways works are to be completed on top priority for which the land acquisition process is in progress.
