Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today directed all Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to work as a team to ensure better implementation of developmental projects and redressing people's grievances.
He was presiding over the conference of deputy Commissioners and superintendents of police here today, an official release said.
The Chief Minister said "though the progress of all departments have been quite satisfactory, yet there was a need to speed up the ongoing developmental projects in the state as it would not only be beneficial for the people but also strengthen the administrative system".
He directed them to lay more emphasis on the speedy implementation of new initiatives by the government.
While referring to the complaints against the newly elected panches and sarpanches regarding fake educational qualification certificates, Khattar asked the deputy commissioners to verify their documents at the earliest.
He said it has come to his notice that about 72 such complaints have been lying pending.
The Chief Minister, while taking cognisance of the complaints concerning deducting high premium by the banks under
the Pradhan Mandtri Fasal Bima Yojan, directed deputy commissioners to constitute a team of officers at district level to "randomly visit" at least ten bank branches in their respective districts to cross-check the allegations.
The deputy commissioners would submit their report to the additional chief secretary, agriculture, he said.
Khattar asked officials to become more proactive towards the scheme and popularise it for ensuing better crops.
As many as 6.45 lakh farmers have been so far covered under the scheme.
With a view to decrease the number of road accidents in the state, the Chief Minister directed officials to identify the accident-prone areas and take preventive measures.
Khattar also directed the Director General of Police (DGP) K P Singh to set up separate cell for investigation and registration of complaints.
On this, Singh apprised the Chief Minister that training has been imparted to the staff and separate desks would be set up in front of the police stations by next week. He said there is a proper law and order situation in the state, the statement quoted him as saying.
'Operation Sanjay' has been launched under which 1.50 lakh CCTV cameras would be installed at various locations in the state by December 31, 2016, it said.
