Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today exhorted teachers to teach students with a missionary zeal and ensure that they outshine them.
Interacting with students of Class IX and X at a government school here, he said "Knowledge is vast and it has no limit," adding that "There is no limit to learning."
He paid floral tributes to former President Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, in whose memory Teachers' Day is celebrated.
The 62-year-old chief minister, who passed Class X examinations in 1970, said, the education system has now considerably changed and the use of computers has become necessary.
He added he learnt about computers when he was 30 years old while children as young as 5 years are able to use it nowadays.
Regarding tuitions, he said almost all students now go for tuitions but during his times, this practice was not appreciated.
Khattar added that "students should acquire knowledge from different mediums be it teacher, literature, computer and continue to strive ahead."
On being asked about his favourite subjects, he said he has a special interest in mathematics and physics, adding that he wanted to become a doctor, but it could not happen because of the circumstances.
