EPFO attaches bank accounts of civic body, recovers Rs 1 cr

The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has attached three bank accounts of Devas Municipal Corporation in Madhya Pradesh and recovered over Rs one crore, officials said today.
"The action was taken after Regional Provident Fund Commissioner Ajay Kumar Mehta gave several opportunities to the Devas Civic Body to deposit the amount of Rs 1.7 crore to the EPFO," an EPFO spokesperson said.
"We have attached three bank accounts of the Dewas Municipal Corporation," he added.
