EU's Tusk says 'mistake' to block Albania, N Macedonia

EU Council President Donald Tusk said Friday that the bloc's leaders had made a mistake in failing to approve membership talks with Albania and North Macedonia.

"Personally I think it was a mistake," Tusk said after hours of bitter summit wrangling ended inconclusively, with a handful of countries led by France refusing to open talks with the two Balkan states.
