Former Congress MP Devvrat Singh, who quit the party in December alleging that he was been sidelined by the state Congress leadership, today joined former chief minister Ajit Jogi's Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (JCC).
The development, ahead of the Assembly elections which are due by year-end, could be a boost for Jogi's party in Rajnandgaon district.
Singh, along with a large number of supporters, joined the JCC at an event at Pailimeta village in Khairagarh assembly constituency in Jogi's presence, JCC's Rajnandgaon district president Janrail Singh Bhatia said.
