The special judge for CBI cases V S Murkute also sentenced the former deputy director P N Dharmadhikari to RI of two years and imposed on him fine of Rs 2,000 under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988. Both the sentences will run concurrently.
The court also held his accomplice P B Bubukwar guilty under the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 and sentenced the latter to one-year rigorous imprisonment.
According to prosecution, Dharmadhikari had sought the bribe of Rs 10,000 to sanction orders to lift seizure of bank accounts of the complainant.
