The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court also imposed a fine of Rs 3.15 crore on Dilip Kumar Diwan, formerDeputy Commissioner of Chhattisgarh Housing Board at Raipur.
Special court judge Jitendra Kumar Jain sentenced Diwan to jail for amassing assets worth Rs 5.15 crore, disproportionate to his known sources of income, Additional Public Prosecutor Yogendra Tamrakar told PTI.
"Besides imprisonment and fine, the court also ordered forfeiture of assets acquired by the officer through illegal means," he said.
"Subsequently, he was issued notices several times, seeking his appearance before ACB, but he didn't respond to any of them following which he was arrested in April last year," Tamrakar said.
The accused had also been booked under relevant sections of IPC, he added.
